The battle across Europe and beyond lasted from 1914 to 1918, also known as “World War One” following the occurrence of the second. This functional piece of art is has been cut from the side-wall of a French artillery shell manufactured in 1918 during the war.  The Copper coin is of British origin and has been hand-riveted onto the shell casing.
