1933-34 Chicago World's Fair Money Clips

$0.00

From 1933 to 1934 “A Century of Progress International Exposition” was held in Chicago to celebrate the city’s centennial. The festival featured many exhibits showcasing the era’s greatest technological innovations, buildings designed in Moderne architecture, and the iconic Sky Ride running from one side of the fair to the other. These jewelry pieces have all been re-purposed from actual souvenirs commemorating the fair.

These money clips are made from a section of a small tray richly textured with an acid-etched map of the 1933 fairgrounds. The tray appears to be bronze or red brass. Hand-stamped text. The section of the map is overlooking the fairgrounds. The backdrop is Lake Michigan.
